Allen Chu, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Allen Chu is the founder and medical director of the Houston Neurology & Sleep Diagnostic Center. He has been providing specialized medical services in Houston, Texas since 1999. He is a triple-board certified specialist in Neurology with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Sleep Medicine with the American Board of Sleep Medicine, and Electrodiagnostic Medicine with the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, the American Epilepsy Society, the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society and The Society for Neuroscience. Dr. Chu is a staff member of Methodist Willowbrook Hospital and Memorial Herman The Woodlands Hospital, and Houston Northwest Medical Center where he also serves as the Medical Director of The Sleep Disorder Center.
Dr. Allen Chu is a multi specialist specializing in neurology, electroencephalogram testing (EEG), sleep medicine, neuromuscular diseases, and electrodiagnostic testing (EMG). Dr. Chu received his resident training at Duke University Medical Center and has advanced fellowship training in neuromuscular diseases and EMG at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard University. He received advanced training in sleep studies and sleep medicine at Duke University Medical Center. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine (MD) degree at Kaohsiung Medical University in Taiwan in 1978 and Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) degree in neuroscience at the University of Iowa in 1994. |
